The Nova Sounds Band and Nova Sounds Entertainment

With thousands of performances spanning more than 30 years, Nova Sounds is a bonafide Toronto musical institution. Nova Sounds is both a live band and an event entertainment company. The Nova Sounds Band - with an amazing line-up that includes Juno Award winner Sonia Collymore - has played thousands of performances dating back to the mid-1960s and is Toronto’s premiere live entertainment band for private and corporate functions. The Nova Sounds Band, which plays in any musical style and in any musical arrangement, has performed with many celebrities and entertainers in its history, including Paul Anka, Harry Belafonte, George Burns, the Pointer Sisters and the Smothers Brothers.

Nova Sounds Entertainment manages all live entertainment bookings (such as bands, string quartets, soloists, jazz combos, dancers, M.C.'s, etc.), DJ's (solo or interactive team) and also provides complete event production services, such as sound, lighting, audio-visual and staging. As well, they create and produce complete themed events and customized floor shows.

Alan Shiner

Not only is Alan Shiner the principal of Nova Sounds Entertainment, he is also the Nova Sounds bandleader, an accomplished songwriter and producer. Shiner has served as musical director for a variety of television and awards shows dating back to the 1970s. He has also written commercial jingles for Air Canada, Coca-Cola, Pizza Pizza, Sleep Country Canada, Marineland and Sleeman’s Brewery. He also runs Toyhouse Media Creations ™.
